Robert T. Collins-Viera is a founding member and now special-counsel of Fernández Cuyar Rovira & Plá LLC. Mr. Collins practice is concentrated in real estate and estate tax planning matters, providing United State or Puerto Rico clients, with advice on how to comply with all civil, notarial and property registry law requirements, when purchasing and selling real estate in Puerto Rico, including but not limited to office buildings, shopping centers, multifamily residential properties, industrial sites, and other types of commercial properties. Mr. Collins also provides clients, particularly United States Citizens by birth or naturalization in Puerto Rico, advice on how to structure and handle their estate matters to best preserve and pass on assets with a minimum estate tax liability. As ancillary to these matters, Mr. Collins practice includes forming real estate dedicated entities, addressing equity, membership and partnership issues, handling landlord and tenant issues, including within bankruptcy, and other related matters.
